Go Forth In Boldness

Luke 10:18-20
Go Forth In Boldness

“And He said to them, ‘I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning, behold I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall injure you. Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven. And whatever city you enter and they receive you, eat what is set before you; and heal those who are sick, and say to them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near to you.’” -Jesus, (Luke 10:8-9)
Jesus is talking to the seventy disciples He was sending out to preach the Gospel. And when they returned He said to them, “I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.” What an amazing testimony to the authority Jesus gave to His disciples! What a testimony to the authority He gives to us! The disciples returned saying, “Even the demons are subject to us by Your Name.”
We are soldiers for Jesus. But how is the battle to be won? Jesus says that all who believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. Our desire is to see men believe in Jesus Christ the Son of God. Authority over sickness and demons is a way to make things better for the people we desire to help, but it is their belief in Jesus that we are after. These things are tools for the greater work of belief in Jesus. It is Belief in Him that saves their soul and no amount of healing can actually redeem them. “The kingdom of God has come near to you.”-This is our message. Jesus follows up with, “Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.”
We must boldly move forward as those seventy disciples, bringing the Kingdom of God near to all men. Jesus has given each of us great authority to be used for the validation of the truth of what we speak, that Jesus is the Son of God. Jesus’ disciples were just regular men who at that time hardly new the truth of who Jesus really was, yet they were able to destroy the Devil’s kingdom! “I was watching Satan fall from heaven like lightning.” So also can we who have hardly even started down our own road as a Christian! We are able to destroy the Devil’s kingdom and all of his fortresses! He is no match for the power of God, and Jesus has told us to go forward in His power and rescue the lost from the power of sin. The Devil trembles before the smallest Christian for he cannot stand against them when they seek God for the downfall of his kingdom.
Sin holds all men captive and looks daunting as it invades our cities, and towns, and schools, and homes. But it is a lie meant to keep us cowering in the corner or hopelessly mired in it’s enticements so that we do not try to stand up against it. Gideon took a band of three hundred men with no weapons against an invading army as numerous as the sand. He won! The enemy was scattered! Joshua went against the city of Jericho with an army of men blowing trumpets. The walls fell! No siege or siege weapons! Victory belongs to our God and we are in His army!
Let us be bold and go forward in victory today! God bless you all!

  1. I personally know Jesus is the Son of God because the bible calls Him the Son of God. I just skimmed the NIV concordance and saw from the book of Matthew to book of Revelation, the bible calls Jesus the Son of God about 80 times. I'm sure there is more. That is what I personally saw.

Son of God, "I love thee. You are my King, my Savior, my Comfortor, Healer, Lord of Lords."Amen.

    1. The Bible is the word which Jesus is the word and the Son of God even before the world began. He always was and always will be and I agree. He's alive and well and is still the same and He will never change. Praise God

  2. QUESTION FOR THE ROOMIES When they couldn't cast out the demons, the disciples said, How come we could't do that? Jesus replied because of your little faith. How come we do not see a lot of this presently?

WHEN WE PRAY JESUS IS AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER INTERCESSING FOR US., IN HIS WILL OUR PRAYERS ARE ANSWERED ONLY NOT AS WE PERCIEVE THEM .. IT COULD BE EMOTIONALLY,PHYSICALLY, OR A SLOW HEALING OR A MIGHTY DELIVERANCE.........COMMENT..... PRAISE,WORSHIP,AND PRAYER ARE OUR WEAPONS IN THIS WORLD. MIGHTY PULLING DOWN THE STRONGHOLDS. 1. I believe that there is a heaven or hell.Right now were in pergatory and the decisions we make now determine which way were going. I do believe in God and Jesus but some of the bibles teachings i do not agree with. The bible was written by man. Unless Jesus or God himself come down and give us a guide to life and how to prepare for what happens next im not 100% sold on some of the scriptures.

    2. Hi Russell. That's great you believe in God and Jesus. May I ask how much do you know of them? For example, let's say you had a son and I asked you to tell me about your son, you probably could go on an on an on about him, from how he dresses, foods he likes, who he plays with, things he says, etc. Now if I asked you to tell me about Jesus you may say 4-5 things about him, like, He died on the cross for our sins, he is the Son of God, He did miracles, but you will not go on and on and on about him. You know why? Because only by reading the bible you get to really know Him.You can go on and on because you read everything about him. For example, Did you know when Jesus healed, He actually felt the power go from himself to the person he was healing? Did you know Jesus cried? Do you know where He preferred to go to pray? Do you know what He said about heaven or how He described it? Do you know what food He ate? I could go on and on. I learned about Him in the bible. Its the same content that came from the scrolls and then transferred to a book...The HOLY Bible. IT IS THE BOOK THAT NEVER DIED. You must ask yourself, why did its contents(scriptures) never die . Contents in all other book die, and people stop reading them. Why have people never stopped reading scriptures? And that is why the bible should be read.

  5. Thats why the bible tells us to teach our children and grandchildren the word and when they grow they will not depart from it.

  6. If more people followed words of inspiration and wisdom, and practiced the lessons being taught, the world would be a much better place.

If you took away your pride(you said you were proud catholic) how would you stand with Jesus, if it were just you and Him, without your religion?

  8. Seth,Do I not have enough 'power' to rid Satan & his helpers out of someone else's life - I bearly know the woman-yeet she is causing my best friend's (ex-husband in this comment)Even though I do pray for her & to have the Devil removed from her. I also don't feel that my whole heart is in [praying) she is such a wicked, wicked, sly, sceeming, horrible on the insidefora lot of years. How do I get my friend away from this? Or can I even do ANYTHING! He's been divorced since 2006-& now this ex-wife is tryihng to take is home, and(in divorce papers) 50%of his pension , & more. Long story short- as I said I pray & pray for her to accept Jesus into her life(she claims that GODis the HIGHER POWER, yet she is so wicked & I truly believe that the Devil andDevil's helpers have such a TIGHT reign on her. She is trying to bring down all that he has built up in his life with Jesus=going faithfully to church, praying from his heart,B& doing what is right and he is doing so well. I would absolutely hate to see this woman 'get' to him.Is this considered more of a 'human fight' ? All I know is that Satan is in her & has been for a very long time. Can you really pull Satan out of someone? My friend, I know is being bombarded by Satan now that he is walking so close
with the Lord, that is reason why Satan is trying so very hard to interfere in his life.God Bless you all. Laurie 3

    1. ~This is not really about pulling Satan out of someone. People who love their sin and their bitterness or anger or revenge and are holding onto them, and are not willing to be set free from them and if they were delivered they would just want them back again. Your friend, if he is holding on to the Lord as you say he is, will come through all these things with only good coming out of it for him even if he ends up losing everything to his ex-wife. God will use it to challenge him in his walk and refine him and cause Jesus to become more real to him than he has ever known He was before. So the best thing you can do is be praying for him and encourage him to do what Jesus has told us which is to love those who hate us and to do good to those who persecute us. The Lord gives us this word because we really do go through these things and have to know how He would deal with them. ~So encourage your friend to be praying for his ex-wife. this does not mean that she will turn from her ways, however, God will use it in your friends life and greatly bless him for it. And of course, hopefully his ex-wife truly meets the Lord and has the joy of His salvation because of the prayers of those who actually love her, not because she was a good person, but because they actually love her despite all of the hurt she has caused them.
~This is how God loves us! He lets go of all the hurt we have caused Him and rescues us and the more we realize what we put Him through, the more we love Him for loving us and not letting us go! - God bless!

    2. Seth, your answer -so inspirational, but part of my friend losing everything -he already went thru it.All daily necessities of life. All that he's built was after split-home,pension,people.She is just so incredibly, unbelievably horrid to him & he was extremely generous!- she's been like this for so many years & now she's tryingto break his spirit & & all he has found- GOD, JESUS, & a strong faith. It no longer works though, & I know that it will stay that way. I never knew such evil existed from "normal" people. How ashamed I am of us, what GOD created in HIS OWN image. All HE & Jesus have done for us all, yet there are such wicked people inthe world. I wonder if GOD ever, ever wonders "Why after allI & MY SON have given them? I know GOD is all forgiving-but isn't there, even GOD, at some point, there would be "OK, ENOUGH!!!!!! Glad I don't wield that power! Laurie-3

    3. Prayer is our mighty weapon against spiritiual wickedness. Fasting is use when we want serious results from God..Above all Put your armor of God.

  9. I agree Seth that prayer changes things and that nothing is impossible with the Lord. Its through being a witness that makes a person see the change and loving them. And I agree not letting them go and staying faithful in the Lord. I hope that helps.
    God Bless You

  10. Our power comes in the form of prayer; we cannot remove Satan; only the Lord can do that. Our prayer should be one of forgiveness and then that the Lord would bring Christians into that person life.
The Lord never promise us that people would treat us fair, he did promise that he would be with us. So many times I’ve seen Christian go thru some rough times and in the end things worked out for the good.
The Lord always has a plan for us and all we must do is trust him.

  11. There’s only one place in the Bible that God actually wrote something himself, and that’s in Genesis when Moses went up the mountain. God wrote the 10 commandments on two tablets of stone with his finger. The rest of the Bible is written by men who were inspired by God.
The bible tells us the faith comes by hearing and hearing comes from the word of God. If there’s part of the bible you don’t except then pray about it because the bible doesn’t contradict itself. If you don’t except parts of the word then pray about it.

  12. The word is the holy inspiration of God written by man. God does not change..He is not a man that he should lie.We are to accept the words written in the bible by FAITH., not by emotions or what we perceive to be the truth. you either accept ALL of it or not. God's eternal plan was that all would come to know him.and be saved by his grace . redeeming love and forgiveness. .....believing..trusting even when we don't see or feel.
