Set Free by the Holy Spirit

John 3:3-8
Set Free by the Holy Spirit

Jesus answered and said to him,”Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a man be born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born, can he?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

Today is the day to ask God for spiritual eyesight so that our thoughts might be focused on our Lord and Savior and our hearts might be firmly fixed on Him. How can we stay on the narrow path if we don’t have our eyes fixed on Jesus? If for a moment we look back at the world and desire its ways and pursuits, our spiritual eyesight becomes dim and we forget why we have been striving to walk on such a tough and narrow path. Our enemy the Devil, takes full advantage of this and entices us off of the road to life and unless God intervenes we will never escape from this trap.
To all of my brothers and sisters I say – Wake up! Pray for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit! Embrace the Lord Jesus with all your heart! The Holy Spirit is able to set us fee from the bondage of sin and a lukewarm love for our Savior. Oh Lord, these are the times of great drowsiness and compromise with the world! Help us to shake off all compromise with sin and not to play with it! Lord, wake us up! Shake us up today! Set our hearts on fire for You!
Let us reestablish nightly prayer in our homes and with our families. Let us reestablish nightly Bible time and reading with our families. Let us turn off everything that hinders us from spending time with God. Let us honor the Sabbath and keep it Holy as it says in Isaiah 58:13-14. These are wicked times we live in and if we don’t make some radical changes in our lifestyle to spend time with God we will be swept away on the current of sin. We must hold fast to the Word of Life now more than ever!

May God be with each of you today. We have all been called by Jesus and must not delay in picking up our cross and following after Him. We are blessed to be children of the Living God! Oh, let us take full advantage of that blessing!

After reading what you wrote, I ask God to refresh my soul with His pure Holy Spirit...to remove anything in me that is not pure and to cleanse me. I love God and want to do that for Him.

And what I have put in my life, since reading your weekly bible studies (which I love participating in) is setting my alarm on my cell phone to ring a few times a days, intervals throughout the day, to spend time with God. I picked 12;00, 3;00, and 7;00.

Also, I 've been MAKING SURE I PLACE MY BIBLE IN A VERY NOTICEABLY PLACE IN MY HOME WHERE I AM CONSTANTLY REMINDED TO READ IT.

I love reading the Bible !!!! I thank God He gave it to us.

    1. Dear Claudette,
It's exciting for me to hear the ways in which you are encouraged to strengthen your relationship with the LORD. I am being encouraged by you also. I love the times (numbers) you used 12, 3, 7. These are numbers from the BIBLE, Great!! I'm about to adopt your idea. May I? Seth is so right about us recharging the Spirit of the LORD in our Lives fear "we become swept away on the current of sin" - Anything to distract us from strengthening our relationship with the LORD.

The BIBLE is a very interesting book. To think that GOD communicates to us through this book is awesome. Oh if others could just be curious to find out what's in it. They would love it.

      GOD's Blessings.

  2. Dear Seth,
Thanks again for your way of spurring us on in the "Truth"; is so appreciated.
I love your BIBLE studies b/cause you are not telling us about personal journeys but you are at all times exalting the WORD of GOD.

I consider Christians as soldiers, we must at all times be prepared. Prepared for what? not for war against each other but against the powers of the Adversary. These attacks are sometimes vague but if we are not prepared can throw us off guard. It is important to refill with the Spirit of GOD.

And now back to Seth's last study, about the HOUSE Of GOD. This is where we become recharged. Because here most of us are on the same accord. The Power of GOD generates here. I want to think of "Church" as the Tabernacle. In order to allow for GOD's spirit to dwell here, it must be clean, really clean. This can happen inside our own homes also.
This is where all our daily burdens are relieved, by the powerful cleansing of the Holy Spirit.

My experiences as a "Born Again Christian" and a Nurse together has helped me so much to see the importance of knowing GOD and having HIM work in our lives.

Fasting: I was told there are different ways one can fast. My experience with fasting is that you eliminate that specific obstruction to the relationship with GOD. Many things can be an interference with our relationship. I have done this so many times and have seen great results.
The LORD must be in the lead in our lives. In order for him to dwell inside we have to make room for HIM.

It's so great to know that being imperfect that we are given the opportunity to walk with the LORD side by side. I am recalling the words to this song "I keep falling in love with HIM over and over and over and over again. It get sweeter and sweeter as the days go by. O, what a Joy between my LORD and I, Just keep falling in love with HIM over and over and over and over again"

Seth, it's wonderful to receive encouragement especially from our Brothers in Christ. When we love each other the way GOD asks us to, we will show concern for each other. Nicodemus was encouraged by JESUS. thanks again for your encouragement .

  3. Dear Seth, you are truly a blessed individual. Thanks for the messages from your BIBLE Studies. So many disturbances are around us, the people of GOD. We should strive not to be caught on "near empty" Now is the time to worship, pray and fast more and ask the LORD for a spiritual refill. This will discourage the Adversary. He will run from us. Being on "half full" will allow space for things that are not promoting the preparation for the Kingdom of GOD. I recall message from one study about the "wise and foolish virgins". Our lamps need to be at all times, be filled. Thanks very much again.

  4. I agree with what you said. The church has become passive and with that our spiritual heart has become calloused. The devil entices people with apathy and passivity. The church needs to break out back into obedience to the voice of the Holy Spirit. With that the fire of God will come back.
    Many blessings

  5. I LOVE AND BELIEVE IN EVERYTHING WHAT I JUST READ. AND I AM RIGHT BEHIND IT AND I WANT TO SERVE HIM JUST LIKE THAT. I DONT WANT HEIDI
(MY NAME) TO BE SEEN. I WANT THE LORD TO BE SEEN IN MY LIFE. I WANT TO SPREAD HIS WORD WHEREVER I GO AND YES WE ARE BORN OF THE WATER AND THE FLESH, BUT HOW CAN I GO BACK INTO MY MOTHER'S WOMB. ITS ONLY THAT I WAS WASHED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB AND BAPTISM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT.
